I also created the logos for two National Journal podcasts (Against the Grain and Quorum Call), and was part of the editorial team whose idea was awarded “Top Feature” during Atlantic Media’s 2017 Innovation Day.

Web Producer   August 2014 – May 2016
Washington Examiner – Washington D.C
.
I work within a CMS to update and maintain the Washington Examiner website. I copyedit articles on a variety of subjects before publishing them and add photos, hyperlinks and SEO tags before posting content. I design graphics and original illustrations for the site, and also compile multiple daily newsletters and send out email and mobile news alerts for breaking stories. As the overnight web producer, I work independently for several hours overnight to ensure that our website remains updated and competitive.

Freelance Artist / Graphic Designer   August 1995 – Present
I’ve designed marketing campaigns for products, businesses and special events. My work has included murals, flyers, newspaper and magazine ads, logos, business cards, web banners, animated gifs, websites, and original artwork. I am also an experienced manager who has helped train and oversee staff in a variety of graphics and art-related work settings. I am equally skilled at working collaboratively with others and working independently to produce quality results on deadline.

Graphic Artist   May 2007 – Feb. 2014
CQ Roll Call (formerly CQ) – Washington, D.C.
I used Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and InCopy to edit photographs, produce charts, and create graphics for CQ Today, a daily print publication. During my time there, my responsibilities included (but were not limited to): the layout and print-ready upload of sections of the Roll Call daily newspaper; the design, images and graphics of the “Vantage Point” of CQ Weekly magazine; maintaining and updating CQ’s databases of published graphics and the photo of every member of Congress; contributing to or leading the design of every CQ Almanac, Member Guide and PIA (Politics in America) book published between 2008 and 2013.

Graphic Artist   February 2006 – April 2007
